Norwegian girl’s hair style :)

loordag-440x398Today i’m gonna tell you about the Norwegian’s hair fashion :) Most girl at school like to braid their hair (like her)——————>>

People call it “Kinaflett” or ‘Chinese braid’ in English. I did try it sometimes but I think it’s not very match with me – -” but anyway I think it’s nice and simple. My friend found a blog of a Norwegian hairdresser. She have posted some videos on youtube and on her blog so i’d like to show you how it look like :D

Easter in Norway! :D

hallooo…back again with a story about Easter in Norway!

lets see how people here celebrate their Easter holiday^^

It is a tradition to be with with your family during the holiday. The house was full of easter decorations welcoming everyone in the family. There is no tradition food for easter but still people want to eat something yellow.  There was one day my family asked me to make food. My host father like ‘green curry’ (i used to cook that once before :P ) so cooked it and i made ‘fried rice with egg’ for the children. My green curry turn out to something else with some reasons, i don’t know why – -” but my host father seems to like it very much! lol  i wonder what will i get comments if thai people have tasted my food XD

And if you talk about Easter, you would never miss to talk about…

307_paskeegg_m_innhold_09_470x381

to get an Esater Egg!! XD

This is like the highlight of Easter. The children in the family will get easter egg with full candies inside. I think I like this tradition best…hahaha XD I didn’t get an easter egg actually, my host family said tradition is for those small children so I went out and bought a bag of candies from the shop myself…hahahaXD

but the most important thing you need to do during the holiday is to go skiing! i think norwegain people are very sporty. My host parents are about 60 years old both and they like to go skiing very much. They could go skiing everyday if they have time and the weather was not to bad. And they can go on skiing like 8 kilometers long way!!I was a bit surprised when I first known how active they are.

img_2175This is a picture i took from the skiing rally near by my host family’s cabin- lots of people were join. Somebody said that “the norwegains are born with the ski on their feet” and I am totally agree! hahahahaXD

but lets us talk about what we’ll need for Easter Ski trip :)

number 1: cross-country ski (langrennski)

osof couse you’ll need it ;) there are 2 difference kind of skiing– down hill skiing and cross-country skiing. I think people do both kind of ski in Easter, but for my family they like cross country best :)

number 2: kvikk lunsj

kvikk-lunsjKvikk Lunsj is a norwegain brand chocolate about 70 years old. It’s turn to a very important part of ski trip. Everyone have kvikk lunsj with them to ski as a tradition.

number 3: orange (appelsin)

caseimage_appelsin-med-solbriller-paaske-liteone more tradition lunsh pack :D oranges are grow during this time (since after christmas) so it’s turn to a tradition to take with you oranges when you tripping outside ^^

and i guess you have all you need to celebrate Easter in Norway now ^^

very simple- go skiing with kivkk lunsj and orange :)

so have fun!! :D

hei hei!

long time since i update my blog…sorry :(

But if you compare with Thailand, we are so much differance in our education system. Art class like this we have only in the university not in high school because of bare money support from the government take our chance away. but what ever, i don’t want to make this blog sound so sad…so let’s watch the videos and see what i have done in the art class and how i enjoy my time in Norway :D

my piano performance

i recorded this video at 13/02/2009 after i was back from school. I learnt 2 songs from youtube: “My heart will go on” and “crush” these are the first 2 songs that i learn to play by heart. I think i can play these songs better than the children songs that i learn from papers, maybe i’ll search for more :P

but anyway, hope you enjoy my video and don’t forget to leave a comment :)

I ate whale!!!! ^[]^

yes, as you did read the head line…I ate whale!!!

My host mother got the whale meat from her friend so we have it as dinner. She said it was her second time in her life tasted this! (how lucky i am :) ) It taste like liver but the feeling is more like beef while chewing. I think I like beef better, anyway I’m glad to try :D so now i can tell people ‘ I ate whale before’ ^0^

I’ve a picture on the newspaper! >.<

On o2/12/2oo8…I have a picture on the local newspaper! it was nothing much actually – -” but just never experince before (hahaha). It was a interview columm about the christmas calender, i can translate for you.

img_0744-copy

Have you a Christmas calender?

Fai Pansomboon <<<—hahahaha XD

Overhalla (place name)

- No, that is what i’m not get used to. I come from Thailand and i’m not used to celebrate Christmas – and inasmuch as it never has a point to count down to Christmas Eve. On the other hand I’m going to celebrate Christmas for the first time this year. It would be great.

Monica Hågensen (17)

Flatanger (place name)

- Yes, I have a Flax calender. It was took out of the Norsk Tipping, and people can win up to 500,000 Kr. – but it haven’t give me any prize yet. I used to have Christmas calender since I was younger too, but my mom made it.

Synnøve Himo Vold (18)

Overhalla (place name)

- No, not yet – but maybe I can buy one. I have thinking about a Flax – or Kinder – Calender. Or I’ll watch the Julekalender on  TV. Then I come enough for Christmas feeling, and I’m looking forward to watch the series again.

(I’m not sure if this translation is all correct but I did try my best – -”)

___________

This local newspaper is publish to 4 cities, I think…i’m not sure. These cities are not very big, but many people at the school did saw my interview! (hahahaha) and they all said like, “Hi Fai!, I saw your picture on the newspaper today!” I was a bit surprised that day actully, because I just had an intetviewed in the everning of the day before and the next morning I what said yesterday is on the paper already! hahahaha…people working very fast!!

but this was not my first time had a picture in the local newspaper in Norway! (oooiiii!!!)  It was 1 picture before, but it was a picture of 42 exchange students that live in the middle part of Norway this year! so i was just a small girl in the picture…hahahaha XD We were all in the local newspaper because we had a ‘Talent Show’ during the camp for people on the the ‘Ona Island’ that day, i can show you…
